Also Good: Spock describing his "friend" Kirk as tanned, with hazel eyes and a compelling human smile, with just one stray curl of hair centered on his forehead
Dunno if that was in the edited print of this book but I am ready for this to get seriousssss

Bad: Kirk telling the guy he's fighting that he probably wore lipstick and dresses until he was 20 to insult his "manhood" and toughness- misogynistic with a side of transphobia
Good: Kirk following that up with telling the guy he must also be double-jointed to have his head so far up his own ass - creative and unique, one of the funniest insults I've ever heard

5 pages in and we already have a lieutenant talking about being “persistent” and describing another Alien on the ship as having the body of a goddess and the face of an Irish settler… mom pick me up I’m scared I just want Kirk and Spock to admit the tension they have

After all that depth and real life discussion and ideals, I’m back on my BS with the 1st edition of this book. Why the 1st edition specifically? BC this is officially published slash fic that snuck past publishers on the first printing and I own a copy!
