Surprisingly this series hasn't jumped the shark - yet. Still fun and lighthearted read, so if you are looking for something more "serious" you will need to search elsewhere. I like the lighthearted tone of these books, which is a nice change from others that are so "serious" they cause the reader to roll their eyes so much they might get stuck.

Dave Stone is 40% done

In book 5 I was honestly wondering if it was getting dumber or not.
I've got my answer. The answer is yes.
Now do I want to keep going? Bruce Sentar is driving the action by having the characters make idiotic choices and engage in high school level drama.
I need to make a new rule where if you call the MC an Efing Moron out loud a certain number of times you get to quit guilt free.
