By this stage, I've also had the pleasure of reading about his beekeeping days (and the "Hell's Beekeepers" jacket he'd wear on his motorbike at the time) and his D&D dungeon master era.

It's vain, but when I find bits about his childhood that remind me of mine, I imagine discussing it with him. I also spent childhood holidays "working" at my local library, in exchange not for money but for the privilege of borrowing more books than technically allowed. I also mispronounced words I'd only read but not heard: Pratchett thought "ogre" was said "og-ree," much like I mispronounced his character Detritus
