Status Updates From Midnight Cactus

The prose is interesting and polished. But wow, this story has problems. First, the prologue is a violent rape/murder scene, which by no means needed to be described in such horror for the plot point to be made. Writers often exploit women’s suffering for shock value, and it’s lazy and gross. Also- It seems like the author has 1. Never actually been to Arizona and 2. Is a bit racist?? Let’s see how it unfolds
