this book is like weirdly racist and weirdly sexual out of nowhere what the fuck lol

like no way this author called an asian character as having skin the color of a "freshly ripened banana" HELLO???????????

as i read there's definitely a lot of telling instead of showing in some places. there's also so many characters being introduced, and it's getting a little convoluted. i can see the plot and how it ties together, but it's definitely a lot, especially for how short this book is

trying to be forgiving bc i read that this is one of greene's earlier books, but the writing style is awkward at times and a little repetitive/redundant, but overall it's not bad. i've definitely read worse written books.
