The second issue opens with Batman himself narrating, confused with the reader at these different stories and how they fit together.

It then navigated to more stories from Batman’s enemies and Allies. Batman dies in each story saving the storyteller. They all reflect on how his death shaped them, and made them a better person.

The story is framed as many of Batman’s enemies and ally’s giving eulogies at Batman’s funeral. They all take their turns telling a story about themselves and Batman, which lead to Batman’s death each time.

Each story represents the perspective of a different ally/enemy of Batman, and may represent a different era of Batman stories. I’m not sure how they fit together, but I have a theory.

Definitely has a clear nostalgic feel. I like how the art changed at different steps to reflect the different styles that Batman had been drawn in decades past.

Telling the story from other’s point of view helps reinforce the idea of Batman as a legendary and mysterious figure. Perfect way to introduce the story as a eulogy.
