Pulling on the likes of Barth, Moltmann, and Jüngel, Lewis dives into the mystery of Christ crucified and what this death means. “[T]he cross [is] the unique and ultimate point of God’s self-disclosure as triune” (p. 248).

If I’m understanding him correctly, he’s arguing that in Christ’s death, the Father forsook, the Son died, & the Holy Spirit kept the perichoretic mystery intact.
