This novel covers the same material as The Devil Wears Prada but was published four months before but the author had not worked as Wintour's assistant. It is much better written and a lot less whiney than Devil. Vig has become a linchpin in a plot to take down a mean-spirited fashion editor. She finds the event editor has been letting his assistant do all the work while he becomes an architect.

This is a reread. I like bed this book back in the day and recently was wondering if I liked it because I liked the topic or because of the writing. It is the writing although I enjoy the topic as well. It came out a few months before The Devil Wears Prada and is by far a superior novel. Thus far Vig is considering participating in a plot to overthrow her Anna Wintour type editor.
