“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly you’re doing something“

Nudge volunteers to lead: I feel like I took this step with the PPC looking for spots to fill. The last time I needed help, I went directly to the people I thought of and asked them face-to-face this time I decided to reach out with the opportunity and let them volunteer themselves For these positions. I was very appreciative of the effort and initiative. They took upon themselves to serve our members.

Share solutions with your whole community: the benefits of collaboration don’t have to be limited to the participants; the fruits of their labor can help the larger community as well. We could even use all that we put together to make associates have a better experience towards the experience of new hires or relocators, or even our stuff as a whole to share ideas and opinions with each other

once we realize our ideas are being evaluated they become safer and simpler. We need to let the power of brainstorming take full effect to use the yes, and strategy and not the no, but to limit ourselves

Now that we’re into the collaborating section, it gets me thinking more and more about how useful a “speed dating“ environment could be for not only our team, but maybe even our staff as a whole. I hear it every day that longtime staff members are just now introducing themselves to each other because of an elevator ride. Imagine what knowing these people on a deeper level could do for each other.

Using members as contributors: using associates of past weeks, who have explored the area to weigh in on the need to know it sheets for the next seminars to come to add a layer of familiarity with people going through the same experiences.

Putting together thoughtful icebreakers to add in to the workday as in a QOTW or question of the week, incorporating a question into the beginning of my building tour for associates – maybe even posing the question while on the grandstand for the group photo

“Think about all the ways you can show new members that there are many people like them in the association“ letting information like this live in a welcome sheet or be proactive and send the sheet the week before they arrive

Personalization of experience. I think we do a really great job in this area, not to say there isn’t a better way or something more we could do or even expand or current ideas. I love that we focus on a personalized experience for our members and associates alike.

The power of the first experience of the first experience. Going through level two as an associate and likely coming to the building for the first time is intimidating and confusing in how big of a city Frisco is and likely not knowing those around you. Adding to their first day, not only in the tour, but with a lasting impression of experience could impact whether there’s a level three.

A growing number of professional member associations are testing out the BFF tone. If you’re leaning into a happy tone, it’s OK to use more words as long as they add up to an engaging read, but try and keep in line with the snack sized messaging.

Tone of a message sets the tone of the member. When Reader smile, they become more engaged with your message and when they become more engaged with your message and opportunity opens up for them to become more engaged members.
Should we be including associates in the messaging for upcoming happy hours? Rosters are almost near completion and it could generate more attendance.

How do we keep the experience going beyond our walls? Can we loop in the sections to continue what we’ve done? Can we use the education or membership teams to kick us off for level one finishers to provide something to look forward to?
