Any time of the year to be able to hike is a privilege but wow oh wow can I connect with the benefits of hiking during the cold, beautiful winter months.

Mr. Dellinger provides great information about how to dress for the winter weather. He mentions MICROspikes, Yaktrax, and crampons. A photo to compare and contrast the three foot cleats may have been helpful. A picture of snow shoes was in the book following the discussion of boots and cleats.

This is such a stunning book and a perfect read for this weekend. We're expecting our first snowstorm. The mountains are going to look so gorgeous tomorrow! I have a hunch that our local state parks will be welcoming lots of winter hikers over the next few days.
