I super-skimmed the rest of the book after 66%. I wanted to know how it ended without investing time. It was a wise decision. Rolled my eyes pretty hard.

I'm struggling. I finished a chapter and don't want to pick the book back up. I wanna know what happens, or should I say, I wanna know how they will inevitably get to their HEA, but I don't actually wanna invest more time in finishing the book. This troubles me.

Maybe this book wasn't a great fit for me. I was under the impression it was a slow burn, but it's really not.

Love how every character is good and evil--so real--complete with many sides and ambiguous behaviours, neither all right nor all wrong. Just 100% human.

Stunned. I am stunned. This book is superb! Other than the quick head hopping at times--that's annoying because it briefly un-transports me. But hell, yeah, this is solid platinum!

Raptly reading this superbly written book! Love the slave master tension and the tension between the thrall and the slave, and even between the slave, thrall and prideful warlord under the master. I'm not so keen on this increasingly strong emphasis on misunderstanding each other's emotions to create tension. Hopefully, that goes away soon. Reminds me of the three book series, The Slave, The Soldier, and The Master.

Are these guys 12? Hard to believe they are both over 6ft & built like brick shithouses. & one is 37! How do you know you like each other, you've had no contact that didn't involve hockey, thinking about sex, jerking off to thoughts of each other, & a 69. I'd have more respect for these guys if they said I can't get thoughts of your arse out of my head and I want to fuck you into the mattress.

I can't quite put my finger on the feeling I'm getting. Frustration, I think. Although whether with the book or myself I can't be sure. There is a certain aspect of Roman's relationship with the thane that I wouldn't entertain if it was in a contemporary so why am I in a historical?

The thane, the thrall, the slave. OMG. ARGH! These characters have names, so I am not sure why they aren't being used. I keep looking for extra people who have all of a sudden shown up. A good editor would have knocked that out right away.
