The cast of characters has grown so fucking large it's impossible to keep everyone straight. Luckily I trained on Star Wars so I am having a 85% hit rate of remembering who these motherfuckers are.

My favorite part of this series is the adaptation of modern technology to 17th century limitations. All these nerds and no way to make semi-conductors. The computer club is doomed. Oh well time to recreate the ENIAC using water clocks.

I've given up trying to read each year and read each "storyline" as decided by wikipedia, but now I'm running into the issue where characters are referencing events that happened in books I haven't read. What the fuck was the Ram Rebellion.

I agree and disagree with various of the author’s characters’ expressed opinions of the “uptime” psychiatric profession (to which I do not belong) but as to BPD, yes, like “Oppositional Defiant” I suspect it’s less scientifically descriptive, more useful for questionable reasons

“the beasts weren’t always as dumb as..”
“dumb” means mute, I believe, in this context, although that seems clearly wrong too (neigh, it certainly is…)

Yes, picky, but I wonder if this conversation would have been like without the Ring of Fire. I’m having trouble finding published editions (in English anyway?) of Oedipus Rex before the 18th century. Athanasius Kircher (1602-80) had heard of it (in some adaptation- Sophokles’ or another’s?) and titled a Latin-language book of his “Oedipus Aegyptiacus” (1652-54) though.
