I’m at the part where the Jewish doctor, the Christian servant of the khan, and the Muslim shopkeeper are trying to tell some king a story that will get them off the hook for execution for perceived joint responsibility in killing the king’s hunchback (which a Chinese lady from China killed by deliberately force-feeding bone-in fish to the hunchback)

“Two armies fight throughout the day, the battle hitting fierce every hour, but when night’s darkness confers then, both sleep together in one bed.”
Pretty much summarizes night 13-14, very deep play of powers, and really shows the overall reference of power back then as it is now. And how no matter what animal you might be in some aspects, wealth will favour you when given knowledge and money.

Very fascinating concept of how slavery was viewed at the given time. Love and marriage also seem to be less complex arrangements overall as they tended to be more common and easier to facilitate in contrast to the common era. Another thing worth noting in the magnitude of abuse and manipulation done by both genders to power play one another as opposed to emotional manipulation which is most common right now

Very interesting so far. Mostly highlights the contrast of contestant adultery in ancient times and the overall connection between hate and its implications with religious beliefs in response to sins such as adultery and murder. Tends to be a short compilation of stories that involve religion, social and ethical boundaries, as well as very standard as well as complex human emotions.

Quite interesting, a lot to digest as sometimes the story delves into a further story and can get confusing. But a lot about demons, jinns trying to overtake humanity for simple yet catastrophic reasons
