Status Updates From Stuff That Makes a Gay Hear...

Fairly enjoyable so far. It’s giving me a certain nostalgia for 2013, in between takes about personal taste lined with subtle classism. I’m glad my generation and/or our culture has gained a bit more class consciousness and media literacy. Or maybe it’s just me 🤷‍♀️

this book came out in 2010, so some of it has aged very poorly. i’ve already seen three examples of body shaming and i’m sure there will be more. this was probably more accurate when it came out, but some examples are viewed positively in the queer community now. interesting to see how things have changed and how some are still accurate 14 years later.
