خوندنش یکم سخت‌تر از باقی کتاباشه, یکم به سخت نوشتن سلینجر عادت ندارم

Don't attempt to read this. Even if you love Salinger, and Seymour, but even then, don't.

چهره‌ای دارم با دماغ پهن و چانه‌ای بسیار ضعیف، که فقط یک مادر می‌تواند دوستش داشته باشد.

تردید ندارم گریه‌ام تا لحظه‌ای دیگر بند می‌آید، اما تا آن لحظه تصور اینکه من در هفتادوپنج تا هشتاد درصد عمرم چه جوان کسل‌کننده‌ای بوده‌ام، بسیار غم‌انگیز و جان‌کاه است.

من تا سرحد مرگ از شکاف عمیق تفاوت‌های شرم‌آور بین صداهای گفتاری و نوشتاری خودم خسته و منزجرم! زشت و آزاردهنده است که آدم دو صدا داشته باشد.

شنیده‌م که سلینجر با روانکاوی و این چیزها به غایت زاویه داشته. اما من به شخصه متن‌هاش رو جز بازنمایی دقیق لایه‌های پنهان روان نمی‌بینم. گمون می‌کنم می‌تونم بارها طی سالیان برگردم به متن‌های سلینجر و هر بار شگفت‌زده بشم از دقت نظر، از شناخت ظریفی که از مسائل داره، از مهندسی متنش.
با این‌حال رندی بوده برای خودش؛ مثلا اول کتاب «تیرهای سقف را...» بود گمونم که هر گونه تفسیر و تعبیر متن رو منتفی می‌دونست. اما مگه می‌شه؟
