Second atempt to read this. The depth of worldbuilding and the quality of the writing more than make up for the less than ideal master/slave business. And, of course, the witchy Michael is deliciously fascinating.

I sort of had my hopes up because of the reviews but damn. I'm really struggling to go on reading simply because I'M BORED. It's not even written decently, so it's a challenge (god the whole first part was A MESS. A GODDAMN MESS. So many random informations and no explanation whatsoever). let's see where it goes i guess

So. I read tons of good review on the book aaand. Boi, they probably came from the same people that see no prob in reading non-con, rape-to-stockholm fiction/mangas.

DNF at 24%. I can't seem to care about any of the characters and what's going on in this book's world. So many things I don't understand, I'm not one for infodumps but there are just too many unexplained confusing terms. On top of that, typos. Little things that should have been fixed at editing. I tried to ignore them but coupled with the fact the story just can't seem to grab my attention for good... I can't.
