Status Updates From Intrigue At The Crowned Jewel

Not actually reading this, am reading 'The Soul Burns Brighter Than The Sun' by 'Wow_thisiswheremylifeis' on ao3, which is about the same length bu not on Goodreads

There is a really great story in here somewhere.

Wow, still 7 more chapters. I wonder what else may occur. Yup, my guess was right about the betrayal but there is a slight twist that I couldn't predict. Anyway, there are still important things yet unveiled!! *rub hands in anticipation*

Lol, the whole thing seems more like a debate on whether the end justifies the means.. There are still quite a few facts yet to be revealed for me to conclusively form an opinion on that but I'm leaning on the former. Easier said than done. Does it make one a psychopath who doesn't care about the way but the destination?

So, new player is expected to appear and will probably advance the plot. Though I think I'll take a break from this story now...

2 people lying for different reasons and by different causes but still: lies.

Oh this is wonderful. Very smart of Sebastian to use the opportunity to extricate himself. Lies and truths. Two sides of a coin, which change as easily as the whim of the hand that holds it.

I think I know what the promised split-personalities and betrayal would be. They are indeed spectacular if I'm right in my guess. Spectacular and mind boggling. Anyway the protagonist has dug himself a grave deeper than six feet while successfully (though unfortunate) donning an outfit with more layers than an onion. Intrigue indeed.

Huh, I thought the delivery man explicitly stated that some magic will allow them to touch the unicorn? They won't need a freaking virgin to put a saddle on the beast!!! *throws up my hands*

Hmm, I've been wondering, where is the promised 'betrayal of the highest order'? Though truthfully, I'm quite glad that there's no extremely evil character in this novel so far. And if my guess is correct, the promised betrayal would probably not be too extreme by my standard (which can be different from the common folks)

I'm lost to the seven winds. Lol. Looks like I've to reread ch 13... And I wonder where this story is going. Although it's good enough I allowed myself to be strung along. Anyway, it is possibly one of the longest story I ever read...

Phew. Slow, sweet, and steady seem to be the mantra for this book. Not that it's boring as a result. Anyway, from the experience of reading the Sound of Snowfall, the author's seems to favor moderate pacing; so expect the same here. Aside from that, I find myself very curious of the absence of narration on 2 important chars. Maybe I'm wrong and they aren't that critical to the plot.. Hmm.. Love sebastian btw.

'Intrigue' has just gotten way more intriguing. WTF is going on?

While I find this story a bit slow and silly, yet interesting, I really wish I did not have all the pages and pages of author notes after each chapter. They are so longwinded and inane they're almost ruining it. Just clicking through them at this point.
