I’m reading so many books that I forgot to add this one. Term 1 done! The War of Spanish Succession is finally over. I’m frustrated because after reading about the English Civil War, I began seeing connections everywhere, but I’ve yet to make a single in the wild connection with what I read in this very long section.

Reading about the Juntas of Galicia and Andalucía rejecting British aid duringNapoleon's invasion had me smiling. Asturias was awesome! A whole people rising up to kick the French out makes so much sense to me. Spain is sleepy until the exact moment you cross them. Then they will fight with 400 years of European pride firing in their eyes. It's so cool to actually live where history happened.

Ugh. I stopped reading this because it was so boring. Instead I’m reading A History of the American People and I’m really liking it.
