Status Updates From Hellblazer: Rare Cuts

Got bored after three stories. Must be because of the old-style art.

The art was sooooo vintage, so 70s Manila komiks.

for a collection of rare stories this actually serves pretty well as an intro to the character and the "Hellblazer" series overall, also has a biographical chart and some other background info though it's maybe a bit spoileriffic

Garth Ennis' contribution confirms my overall impression he's at his best when doing way serious stuff, keeping his trademark goofy shock humour to a minimum. For the most part I'm really starting to like "Hellblazer"... it's got a really distinctive combination of deeply studied British supernatural folklore traditions with a distinctively UK style of social realism in literature.
