Status Updates From Stalingrad

Also the story of a senior steel worker that still goes on for 18 hour shifts. The tanks made from their steel only drive fifteen minutes from the factory before they’re shot at. There are orders coming down the line to prepare to blow the factories up as the Germans arrive.

The first husband is hanging back after the HQ retreats in order to supply fuel to a stranded tank squad. He reads an order from Stalin that makes retreating illegal from then on. A different lieutenant who was injured for a bit and received care in Stalingrad is now back in the front wrangling his motley regiment.

Forgot to update yesterday. Details about the soldier who was once the aunt’s husband. He’s been sneaking behind enemy lines in Ukraine as Germany rushes further east. Part of his job has been to inspire the soldiers and recruits to keep fighting and regroup with the armies around Moscow. The aunt is currently flirting with a colonel that is going to be sent to the front soon.
