Status Updates From Darkroom (Darkroom Saga, #1)

One reason this book reads oddly is that the author switches from 1st person present tense to 2nd person present tense. I'm not sure if the H is addressing the reader (Like Joe in You, or the heroine). This reminds me of Joe from You, but the writing is not near as good. I'm not sure if the author meant this to be funny or not.

I'm addicted to this book, but this book has problems. It could've been a riveting horror - a twisted tale of a fanatical psychopath and his victim, but the execution is making this seem silly.

God, the choppy writing style is making this hard to read.

I'm really wondering how the author plans on redeeming this guy.

wtf. he has a flashback to "Vanessa" a girl who came on to him. He was offended she had breast implants so he ties her down, numbs her boobs, and removes the silicone implants, then chokes her with them. Then covers her in acid.

like, wtf is this story? This is just a random flashback inserted in the middle of his POV.

This is sick, but I'm finding it hilarious.

In under 3% of the book the H has 1) Blinded the heroine with medication 2) Beat her 3) Rubbed salt in her open wounds 4) Bleached, then shaved her hair. Made braids out of her hair to restrain her.

I was thinking this would be the antagonist but now we're getting his POV. This is nuts.

Not sure what to think about this yet. Somewhat confusing so far.

At 60% and seriously thinking about DNF'ing - maybe my hopes were too high for this one?
