Hum.
This was Paul Auster’s first novel, and he wrote it under the pen name Paul Benjamin. The writing style is what one would expect from a noir detective. Reading the book, you cannot feel who the writer is - I certainly did not recognize him - it could have been anyone, really.
The story line didn’t pull me in at all, neither did the dialogue.
I wasn’t able to bring myself to finishing it.
