Status Updates From Cinque stagioni

Great work, at times greatly unpleasant, but that's part and parcel for Yehoshua's 'Faulkner in Israel' and hence never exploitative (though plenty gross) , paced terribly, but very satisfying.

This narrator feels like an Israeli version of George Costanza or even Larry David...not knocks against the work, mind you, Yehoshua writes a rich almost Dickensian level of 'lived-in' in his descriptions and his Faulkner inspired flights of fancy are satisfactorily bizarre and more than often insightful. Shame he passed last year.
