I know the direction the story just took probably wasn't quite as cliché back in 2010, when this was published. Probably. But still. *sigh*

Now I'm tempted to skim in order to spare myself further eyerolling. But you know what REALLY hurts? Up until now I honestly thought this was going to be my first 5-star read of 2021. 😩

bureaucrats = vengeful murderers. club owners = human traffickers. and Mossad agents shake-off bullet wounds as if they were mosquito bites—only to weep hysterically bcuz WUV.
