Status Updates From The Salisbury Key

I was not encouraged by the premise but I'm only 10% in and I'm heavily invested in the MC's journey. That's some good writing.

So we're now getting into the genre/story I expected, almost 8 hours in... quite a few hours late for it imo... and also imo... the romance should bloom an hour or so after THIS, not however long ago it actually did. Yknow, they're roped into an adventure together and THEN fall for each other at the end. Also, took a while for the Jason reveal we all knew was coming since the start.

Past while has been too focused on sex & the somewhat uncomfortable and too-fast relationship with Rayne, not enough on story.. like, what happened to the archaeology dig?

Okay... not happy with their first sexual encounter. I understand Daniel's grief fueled emotional volatility, and it makes sense that he'd throw himself at Rayne just to feel someone's touch. But I'd have a hell of a lot more respect for Rayne if he turned Dan down--you're clearly not in your right mind, and I am, so I'm going to gently stop this before you do something you'll regret. But nope. He goes for it.

Ok you’ve a chameleon like ability to pick up languages but you can’t pronounce the French menu at a fancy restaurant and order for yourself? Ok…

The audios of Harper Fox books are real winners for me, this is the third one and I get sucked right in really early on which is not a given for me with audio.

I haven't even made it past the prologue and I'm already cringing...
