This is honestly kind of dull and I'm really over books set in kinda maybe fantasy 20s-50s Britain but with only like two hours left I feel silly making it a DNF

I think I *may* have made it 15% of the way into this book. Then an attorney calls the small-town mayor's office (where the mayor's daughter is involved in an elaborate ruse to do his job without anyone knowing he's out of town) to inform him that land donated by way back when should actually be owned by a real estate developer claiming to be the rightful heir.

Listen, I can only suspend disbelief so much.

I was gonna try to make it to 50% but, honestly, I'm bored. May give it another shot next year.

The conflict is ridiculous and there are massive inconsistencies that make it difficult to read, but I'll probably finish this just because there's only like an hour left. Definitely not a recommended read though.

Two main issues with this book so far: clearly this author has zero knowledge of tech start-ups. Also, the central "conflict" is paper thin. Moving back to her hometown and working with the hot high school bestie turned multi-millionaire is the most obvious solution possible to FMC's problems. The only thing keeping it from happening is her.

I don't think I actually made it 5% into this book because, dear god. It's like watching paint dry.

Wow. Every last one of the books in this series seems to be complete shit. I don't know how the first one was somehow the best, but this is the second in a row I haven't been able to bring myself to finish.

This is really fucking boring and repetitive and also everyone in this book is a moron. Except the 8 year old. Because she's 8.
