I would have DNFd this but I'm waiting for this big plot twist that everyone comments about

No progress made in 3 days. I think I liked the Mexico part more than I like the possession part 😂

Honestly, loving it

Small early complaint, using both English and Spanish words in this manner can exclude some readers :(

Cómo me encantaaa su forma de escribir 🤩

Such a good little palate cleanser

Laughing, crying, all the emotions

One of the books I recommend the most so I had to listen to it again. Feels good

Nancy Drew mentioned!

Gracias, Jaime. T♡

Just when I think I'm mastering reading in Spanish, I pick up this book.

I knew it was going to be a challenge as I have read it in English and even that was a discombobulating experience.

I'm doing my best to understand everything through context but when I finally look up a word and it adds so much nuance, I realize I'm not taking in the book as it's meant to be understood.

I first listened to this book in English and was so intrigued by the style of writing that I knew I wanted to read a physical copy in its original Spanish.

One of my favorite authors and I've had this sitting on my shelf 3/4 finished for far too long.

I'm just here for the Mexicanisms

Okay well after watching the movie, I can say that this is *supposed to be* confusing and I'm actually impressed that I understood as much of the book as I have so far.

I have no idea what is happening! But the Spanish / the writing is so vulgar, so interesting, so Mexican..... that I feel compelled to continue listening. Enriching for the ears even though I am definitely struggling to keep up with the plot

¡Viva México! 🇲🇽🤠

Fun! Totally relevant for me right now being in the Yucatan Peninsula.

Potentially my favorite book of the year. This book belongs in the same conversations as Atomic Habits, Peak Performance, and 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

Being a waitress was my least favorite job, I have nothing to do with the restaurant industry, and YET, this book is soooo good and so relevant!

The first half was harder to get in to, but probably the audiobook format + passive listening in Spanish is adding to my own personal struggle.. Second half of the book is MUCH more engaging and between this and Moctezuma Girls, I'm glad I chose the book [about Tecuixpo] that's in Spanish as it is just. so. deliciously. enriching to hear the words in the native language, w the right accent, etc. Will prob read both

A HUEVO, Leonor.

Mildly spicy. Luckily, Dolly is hilarious, relatable, and shares a name with my beloved grandmother and it just makes me happy every time I hear it... so we shall continue

Is this going to get spicy....?! 👀
