This book is.... slow. I'm still not sure what the genre even is...? Romance? Mystery? The writing is good enough to keep listening, I'm just really hoping it starts to get better.

Smart, witty, and clever. 40 min into the audiobook and I have laughed out loud multiple times already.

You get a deep sense that the author might actually be psychotic, yet, like a gnarly car crash, one cannot look away. Enthralling.

This is as much about sales and marketing as it is about beer. Should be read by anyone in the beer industry. Really interesting so far.

As someone who has always been fascinated by words, etymology, and language, I am enjoying this story, even if it does feel a bit slow in parts. Kuang showcases her unique and creative mind with the fun invention of silverworking - a mind-bending display of her command of semantics. Fun and interesting premise.

I've never been a fan of Trevor Noah but more than 3 people have mentioned his audiobook to me now so when I saw it available, I decided to give it a shot.

I'm 3/4 of the way through, and at this point, he is still living in South Africa. It seems absolutely WILD to me that he goes from what I'm hearing now to a famous TV host in The US!? Needless to say, I'll be finishing this one... and I might become a fan!

Just like Carl, I'm doing my best to make it through this seemingly neverending challenge. *yawn* what floor are we on again? What monsters are we fighting? Magic missiles? Talking cats? Ah yeah. Carry on... (But hopefully not for too much longer...)

Gave it my best shot, but what's the point of listening to something if you don't enjoy it? Honestly, its portrayal of treating humans like animals in some parts made me laugh out loud because it felt like some gruesome PETA campaign (I know it's not)

Overall, it is not the content I enjoy spending my free time engaging with. This is one pop-culture movement I'll have to miss out on. DNF

Going through a rough patch currently. Let's make it worse!

I have glazed over this title in my library app dozens of times. I must have never opened it up on goodreads nor read the synopsis because if "Mormon survivalists" didn't pull me in then most definitely a nearly 4.5 score on goodreads or a top comment from Bill freaking Gates would have done it!

Whatever the reason for waiting so long, I'm here now. Can't stop listening! Was also raised Mormon, so there's that.

Nearing the dreaded last 1/3 of this book that many commenters mention, but the story already slowed down for me a long time ago. Regardless, the book is good and I'm enjoying the story. Can't deny that I'm looking forward to finishing, though.

Small gripe - in the synopsis it says, "two friends - often in love, but never lovers" which is misguiding because they are never in love, they're just best friends!

Low energy as I recover from a surgery. The reviews say this book is cozy. Nothing like what I would typically read but have been surprised multiple times this year by giving random books a chance. I have hope for this one.

Okay well this just got weird. I get that people masturbate but this "thing" with Mustafa really came out of left field for me.

She is really lyrical and insightful and touches on uncomfortable topics but it is all just too much for me in a weird, try-hard type of way. I imagine these topics and descriptions are more relatable in her home culture and/ or tongue.

Really working hard to make it through this one. I have given this author a fair chance, and while her stories are readable, they are also very meh. She clearly has a lot of knowledge and depth in spiritual topics but then the delivery is underwhelming.

The great thing about this (audio)book is that it gets you interested right from the beginning. Well performed and laugh out loud funny in some moments, and I haven't even gotten to "the big reveal." Really easy and enjoyable listen so far.

Studying Turkish culture and this author is spoken of SO HIGHLY. I searched Libby for the author and this was the audiobook available.

And...... wow!!..... spiritual, comfy, layered, relatable, compelling.... I feel this one in my heart. One of those stories that sucks you in.. and since it switches between multiple perspectives, it's mentally stimulating! but also spiritually and emotionally as well. So good!

I bought this book because I was so impressed with her first book that I just wanted to support this author and her work. Did it matter that I've never thought twice about fine art?? Not at all!

I find I'm having a hard time getting through this one, though, and longing for the whimsy, magic, and adventure that I've been enjoying in fiction books lately.... might have to put this one on the shelf for a while

Trying my darndest to make it through this book. In the past few years, this is the main type of book I've read - intense, high-performance, and extreme achievement type books. Don't get me wrong, it is a great book that has many practical applications.... *big sigh* trying so hard to finish in order to move on to the next.....

This book!! So funny and sweet and oddly relatable for being about children that spontaneously combust lol! Even more than that, this audiobook is a whole one-woman performance! Absolutely incredible work on the part of the narrator.

I have read non-fiction almost exclusively for 8+ years so to stray from that and find a book like this is a breath of fresh air. Fun and worth a listen!
