DNF due to the increasingly awkward and cheesy dialogue. It started out so well but I can’t handle the second hand embarrassment of the dialogue between 2 supposed ex-military guys.

Okay this really annoys me. If you are going to set a book somewhere specific, at least spend a few minutes researching! You can’t sail from Sydney to the Gold Coast in a couple of hours, nor to Fraser Island from the GC in the same amount of time! Moreton Island is hundreds of km from Fraser Island too. Do some freaking research or just don’t mention timelines. Frustrating!

DNF. Needs an edit. It was really hard to tell whose point of view I was reading as it seemed like the names kept getting mixed up. That together with the run-on sentences made it too much effort to power on through.

I’m struggling as I really can’t stand Linus. I might persevere at some point, but I’d have to be in the right mood. At this point I really can’t understand what everyone loves about this book…

Can’t keep reading. The writing is so awkward and doesn’t flow at all. It’s a real chore to read.

DNF. FMC is a whiny bitch and I have no idea how anyone likes her. She’s an absolute cow to Maddoc and acts like a spoilt child when asked to go to her brothers’ games. Can’t stand her!

Desperately needs an edit. I’m 8% in and the number of repeated words in sentences is ridiculous! Edit the damn book - or at the very least get a half decent beta reader to check it over. It annoys me so much when authors go to all the effort to write a book and then don’t bother having someone proofread it. Rant over.

Way too much telling and not showing.

Ugh, the FMC is annoying the crap out of me. Whiny, wimpy and easily led. Nope, not my cup of tea at all. Not sure I can persist with this...

Can’t get into it. The grammar is horrible and the typos and punctuation errors are too frequent.

Chapter 21.
The audio book is terrible! The character voices make me want to rip my ears off. The narrative voice almost puts me to sleep and Olli’s voice is so scratchy and annoying I’m surprised someone hasn’t killed her just so they don’t have to listen to her talk.
I don’t understand how stupid she is. I just don’t get this book at all. No chance I’ll be reading or listening to the next book though.
