Very challenging. Fr. Dubay, however, errs in proposing that 2. Cor. viii 13-15 stands for the proposition that we are to give to a level of arithmetic equality. The Greek word in the passage often translated equality is elsewhere translated as fairness; the passage invokes a reciprocal care which does not necessarily involve sameness; and the sharing of manna, which it cites, was not to an arithmetic equality.
