Re-reading an old favorite to see if it still holds up after all these years!

2023 is the year I revisit some of my favorite books. Tonight I'll start on one of my favorite Murakami novels!

2023 is the year I go back and re-read some of my favorite books. I'm starting off with Clive Barker's Imajica because there are scenes that have stayed in my mind since the first time I read it in 1991. It's like one long and deeply surreal fever dream, and I am looking forward to visiting these bizarre lands once again.

Yeah. I'm gonna hunt down every single volume. This is my 16th out of 35. It may take a while and there will be breaks where I'll read something else, but I'm definitely going to track all of these down for my library.

Yes, I know, I know! I'm stuck in a rut but I'm very happy here!

I'm still digging this series, so I'm gonna keeping collecting and reading them until I can't find any more!

We started off with a great story by Ursula K LeGuin - "Forgiveness Day".

I'm back in my Sci-Fi Rut, but I'm happy.

Taking a momentary break from my science-fiction binge to indulge my interest in classic cinema!

Yes, I'm starting another of these behemoths. I'm kind of stuck in a rut ... but it's a rut I'm very happy to inhabit.

This is a great story! I've gone to bed earlier than usual so I could get through another chapter or two before drifting off to sleep. So far so good!

There are some wonderful stories in this volume!

Wow. I'm discovering that Marlene Dietrich was a colossal assh*le, vain to the point of absurdity, nasty to her employees, snobbish, self-absorbed, and was convinced of her superiority to almost everyone she encountered.

I'm finding my interest in this creature waning with each page I turn.

There are some positives here but I'll save them for the final review.

I read this when it first came out and way back before I made it a goal to see every one of their films. Well, I finished Joan's filmography last fall, and I'm well past the halfway point with Bette's, so I dug this out for a second reading.

It's taken a lot longer to get through this volume because work has worn me out and I fall asleep faster!

I'm excited to dive into my 5th Sci-Fi collection from Gardner Dozios!

I'm in the mood for some Science!

There are some great stories here, but my favorite so far is "Prime Meridian" by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. It's about a young woman in Mexico City whose life has fallen apart, and she struggles to get by while dreaming of an escape to Mars.

This is Ito's visual interpretation of the original novel by Osamu Dazai, and we're off to a great start!

These sci-fi anthologies by Gardner Dozois are wonderful. This is the third one I've picked up.

I like that I don't feel committed to reading one of these collections all the way through once I start. It's easy to put on pause, read something else, then return later and pick up where I left off.

Currently this is on hold while I read the latest graphic novel by Junji Ito - "No Longer Human". I'll be back!

Interesting book, but there are some issues ... details later.
