I'm legitimately loving this, the wording is kind of inspiring the development of a new character.

Excessive female birdsong! That phrase is hilarious, I love it!

A lot of parallels between this book and the first one. Like almost exactly the same, plot-wise. :/

Something about love triangles like this doesn't sit right with me. She has her main boy and then a secret side boy she keeps in case her main doesn't work out. Not a fan of this 'back-up boyfriend' business.

So it's a manic-pixie-dream-girl adventure thing... but with the protagonist being the best friend rather than the love interest.

I'm okay with the 'pushing your shy friend out of their comfort zone' thing, but the 'shy friend's weird idolisation of and dependence on Sloane - her manic-pixie best friend - is really awful.

Sloane's disappearance is probably the best thing that could've ever happened for her.

I'm a fan of David Wong's articles on cracked.com so I'm hoping this is like an extended version of what I find in those.
So far, I'm liking it. I've already giggled a little, so that's a good sign.

I found this kind of clever and different:
“He’s haunting her house, out in [town name removed for privacy]."

gosh this looks horribly cheesy, cringeworthy and clichéd... I can't wait to read it! :)

"The zombies were nodding dutifully and looking interested". Ah yes. The teenagers appear very interested in this long explanation. That they have already learnt about, since they were required to study the topic just to be standing there. I, the reader, therefore must be interested as I am the only person around that doesn't know this info. (C'mon author, there had to be a better way to tell us your ghost theories.)
