i go to museums like once or twice a week but the suspension of attention in that privileged environment is starting to make me sick.. i am pissed at poetry bc it relies on a socially constructed medium but at least following western metaphysics breaking language breaks the world. art can break real things but the broken things must reach us thru supersanitized mechanisms?

Journey again to the Southern California midlife roadtrip infidelity arc. I can’t get married until I’m done with this life fr. After the dinner party, it was snowing on Lyndale and I was dancing in it while he told me a 5-hour movie about divorce. I send a snow ekphrasis. My ex said, why do you always read stories about divorce? And then I have to admit, I don’t care about stories.

I’m in awe at how much artists in the past burrowed into formulations of technology or mathematics or …? to invert them. Or at least, engaged with those specific ideas in their own ways— maybe I’m just not reading enough Blake Butler poetry NFTs of 2025

paranoid and reparative reading is a major concept maggie nelson cites in The Argonauts and i’m thinking paranoid reading is a major descriptor of 2020-2021 discourse i grew up in or maybe the internet

holy fucking shit I’ve been saying this 😭 Lunenfield calls it a state of “unfinish”— the possibility the internet holds for destabilization of pure authorial intent / audience relationships; instead acknowledging users can shape texts too (together). i’m waiting for the polish of AI to make professionalism unfashionable — so destabilization can rise ❤️😈

in line at the Bush’s Beans stand at the fair, a man asks me what The Lights is about, and offers me ‘in return’ a book recommendation for A Short Stay in Hell, a Mormon book

Because even here in my body / I waited outside like a stray.

It’s ok to read books by bad people if you drive a zero emissions car to go get their book from a rich suburban library.

The Arabic language does not have hyphens, because the breaking of something from the inside is not allowed or we continue on as if it is not broken.

i was wondering if anyone on here would like to support my August readathon for Palestine, based off of the Sealey Challenge. I’m asking for pledges of $1 per book I read (up to 31! but unlikely lololol) and taking suggestions too :-)

the provocation is that the poet is gay and evil— (evil as in vile to women of color)— which historically is not a provocation. And that your ex loves him for saying parties are necessary, cigarettes are necessary. but lately i’ve been equating mastery with outpouring (I’m writing this in a downpour in Burnsville). thinking craft is not on the line level but something more sinister
