its good to see Maxi attempting to grow a spine but her complete inability to think things through and/or open her mouth without crying is frustrating

is it ever explained why Maurice and his family are so rich and slightly famous? it's said early on that he met Robert bc he was trying to steal his wallet, which made me think he grew up poor. but he's like, not just rich he's like fabulously wealthy in the present. and his sisters all seem very wealthy too? just wondering

this has the vibe of in Naruto when it's revealed that Hinata's dad actually loved his brother and (allegedly) cared about Neji and then he's just a normal guy we're supposed to like from that point on but in the back of my mind im like ok but isn't he like a slave owner and abused his daughters their whole lives? like isn't that a real thing he did? and im supposed to act like i forgot.
