From the book: Suffering and sorrow show that we are alive, guiding the physician ore precisely in his diagnosis. It is necessary to accept suffering and to cope with it in silence.

Through the rosary we allow ourselves to be guided by Mary, the model of faith, in meditating on the mysteries of Christ. Day after day she helps us to assimilate the Gospel so that it gives a form to our life as a whole.
Pope Benedict XVI

The rosary is an exercise in piety that draws its motivating force from the liturgy and leads naturally back to it. Blessed Pope Pau VI

Fr. Calloway details many who had a devotion to the rosary. Excellent information. I can't thank Fr. Calloway enough for the detailed work he put into this book.

Fr. Calloway has given us a host of Champions of the Rosary including Blessed Pope Pius IX who said: Let the rosary, this simple, beautiful method of prayer enriched with many indulgences, be habitually recited in the evening in every household. These are my last words to you: the memorial I leave behind me.
Can you imagine the good that would come, the HEALING that would from praying the rosary daily.

A group of Jesuit priests survived the bombing at Hiroshima and they credit praying the rosary daily as Our Lady of Fatima requested. They were about a mile from the bomb site. They did not get radiation poisoning, either. What a testament to the power of praying the rosary on a daily basis.

At her burial a set of rosary beads was placed in the hands of Princess Diana, a gift she had received from Mother Teresa, who died the same week as Diana.

I learned that at Lourdes, Mary's Rosary had a 6th decade, as she encouraged praying an additional decade for those in Purgatory.

Very interesting history of the Battle of Lepanto. I had no idea that Miguel de Cervantes, author of Don Quixote, had taken part in the battle.

Great book that breaks open the NT. Easy to read. Full of info. I just bought this and the first book as a graduation gift. The recipient seemed to be pleased and said he had heard they were good books. (They are great books.)

Will has found his way into the chamber where St. Thomas' relic is located. His life is in danger as is the two friends he has with him. Another friend has ratted him out to his mother who up to this point thought he was planting trees, a harmless activity. The tree planting was a "community service" project given to him as punishment for the last act of disobedience he performed.

Peter was given the power to forgive sins. The "under shepherds" are the Apostles who are also given the power to forgive sins. Their successors, the bishops, are given the power to forgive sins. Jesus teaches how to deal with sin and the members of the Church. Jesus also gives the Apostles (and their successors, the bishops) the authority to interpret divine law.
