Lynn Painter is SO hit or miss for me. I’ve loved some of her books, truly loved them. I really liked Better Than the Movies. But this sequel? This sequel is almost as bad as Fake Skating was and I HATED Fake Skating.

Did Painter just not know how to write a story about a couple who are together?

The timing of this…was so awful. They’re seriously going to have sex immediately after he tells her about his wife miscarrying? 😐

I know some people need it. But no. Just no.

Gabriel is boring as fuck, there is nothing interesting going on with any of the characters outside of this one stupid secret that makes them all assholes, the girl who's been cheated on is portrayed as unreasonable, and the only atheist is a cheating dickbag. I officially hate this book.

Honestly, I have mixed feelings.

I just…do not understand the choices being made here. What is the purpose of Gabriel??? Honestly. He feels so pointless.
