This was a bit slow for my liking, and the characters felt stiff. It’s a problem when one of your protagonist gets character development at the end of the story. Him being a mistrusting, semi intelligent brut, was not engaging but frustrating. I saw the movie first which I think has sullied my opinion but that’s not the main reason I think this book isn’t for me. I would say most of Reid’s newer books have captured my attention, drawn me into their world and provided epic stories. As I try to back read her collection, I realize these kind of love stories she use to write was not her forte. The vibrant worlds she creates in her new works are so much better.

Ahhhhhhhhh!!! Just finished this and the last page made me close the book so quickly and throw it on the couch. I was angered, angered by the conclusion but it fit so well with the story that I’m annoyed.

Many issues with this one. Primarily, the self absorption of our main character. They privileged, self righteous attitudes of this character was abhorrent. Don’t waste your time with this book.

I was hoping for more of a telenovela vibe while they were filming, but was disappointed in the melodramatic tale of a two characters I was already in a melodramatic tale of two actors getting to know one another; seemed redundant and didn’t add any spice to the novel. I understand we’re suppose to see the mirror lives of the characters they were playing to the actors themselves but honestly we needed more fiery pass
