Ch 12. Started pre good but it’s missing that push pull. The angst. The build up. Here the H our jaguar has basically decided that he wants to protect and help h. There’s no she’s our enemy why should I trust her. It’s just straight im in. So it’s ehh

Ch 30. Just too cringe now. Build up was good and tension was hot but now it’s super cringe. The Russian mafia princess bit isn’t done great and the H’s possessiveness is kinda weird. It’s not hot it’s cringely written now and cbf finishing

Got to 48% ages ago. I was SOOOO INTO IT. I LOVED THE SET UP. But then idk I think I skimmed a head a bit and now im cebs? Might go finish it off just to have to read but it went from full 5 stars to me not caring. Perhaps just a reading slump got me?

Ch 6. DNF. Not the vibe, thought it was gna be bullying and smutty but instead we get lots of flashbacks where the h is 7,8,9, etc and bonding w her brother and her mum is a drunk and they’re in a MC club. It’s super cringe and teenagy and the set up is just not it. I skimmed forward a bit and it also doesn’t have hot smut its just ciringe and too young YA

Ch 5 SUPER CRINGE the way it’s written idk super dramatic and teenagey. H has a bad boy act in a cringe roll my eyes way and the h is even worse with a idc about it guy etc etc but he’s all I want ugh ew cringe

Ch 10. I was really into it but the length is just reallyyyyy long and the story is going on and on and I’m still not at the MC’s in current day. Also didn’t really feel the MC’s connecting much tbh. I read some reviews to try get some spoilers and I loved Lea’s review and tbh idk if I need to finish the book. Was hoping for lots of angst but seems like it’s just grovel on the H’s part

Ch 6. Im bored. Was into the setting up of the MC’s, h climbing to save a cat and H being the only one to come across her then both getting stuck. But then idk it seems like there’s not much real animosity between them. They just didn’t really know each other? Idk but I’m bored and I also thought there would be jealousy with the other brothers but it seems like they’re set up as just friends so eh idk

Ch 11, started a while ago and rmmbr stopping cos it got cheesy. I get into in when I restart then it gets too cheesy again and repeat process. Cheesy in the sense of the H is obsessed with h and vice versa without any real reason so the angst isn’t properly there even though h is meant to be spying. Idk something’s just not hitting the mark

Ch 20. Not sure what it is, it’s just taking me out of the story. The build up was good I liked the way the story was set up and the way the MC’s interacted. But now that they’re interacting more idk it’s not angsty or anything. Even tho the MC’s aren’t together yet I’m just not invested. The h gets tingly whenever H touches her and idk something is just now off

Ch 6. Ugh I could probs keep skimming but goddam Addie (h) is very childish. She’s super standoffish for no reason and is flipping out about Chase (H) and acting like a teenager. Idk could keep going but not sure I can be invested. It doesn’t seem like there’s gna be angst and Chase is already fully committed to getting Addie

Ch 5. Idk can’t get into it and don’t understand the writing lol

DNF. Started reading and couldn’t get through 3 chapters. Didn’t like the writing - the use of UK slang was annoying and whilst the set up story could be good I didn’t like how the MC’s were written with the way they spoke, thought and acted. Too much tell no show and just meh

Really not the route and writing I was looking for. I thought it was going to be more dramatic with h getting hit by a car but she’s already talking to the H and attempting banter but it’s weird banter that seems like it was written by a high schooler. Also H carried h to a med room and she’s all wow he cares I can it see through his eyes. No don’t buy it

Ch 9. Hmm not sure, the writing is fine, there’s nothing blatantly obvious that makes me roll my eyes and yet I’m just very meh to these characters, plot and writing style. Maybe if I picked this book up years ago?? Idk

Ch 40. Whilst I’m still interested in the story and the writing is good and I like the MC’s. It just feels like the story is dragging. I’m at the part where the MC’s are in book 2 and maybe it just feels repetitive even though it’s completely different people. Idk just feels like it’s dragging

Reading the reviews it seems like this is less erotica/romance and just erotica. I really need the romance and am not feeling just erotica. Also read the reviews and got some idea of who Malcolm is (centaur) and that there’s not much plot development other than the sex. Also Ch 4 sex was definitely hot but also probably a bit too weird for my mood rn

Looking to get out of a reading slump and thought some of these books could be it but just not feeling it unfortunately

Read this in China so a delayed update. I was super keen to read about these 2 but the book has been quite meh. I was expecting loads of enemies to lovers tension but cos we joined the book with them already into an on off relationship, it didn’t have the same tension.

Ch 21. Super hunger games esque though not a bad read. It’s just not drawing me in as much as I thought. Probably because stakes are low and I’ve read a few reviews that make me go meh. The H is meant to be this all evil killer but he’s just normal and we even see him be kind, and the h can do no wrong.

I think it’s OK. Quite like the H and his darkness with the soft h and the humor around their relationship even if a bit juvenile. Idk maybe it’s just missing smut and heat?

Ch 4. Not sure just not drawing me in.

Ch 7. Started reading 6/7/23 and remember being over it. The h ‘grew’ from her encounter with H and shes now a self proclaimed whore but idk something about it makes me roll my eyes. Maybe how every guy wants to sleep with her and how shes ‘cool’ and doesn’t catch feelings cos she’s a hot bartender. Idk

Ch 1. Ahh this must’ve been why I stopped ready 3 YEARS AGO LOL. This prologue is so fkn shit makes me roll my eyes SOOO hard. Talk about instant love and connection fuck that roll my eyes so hard

Ch 10. Started the book and read to about 24% and actually really enjoyed it. The writing was good and the plot intriguing but I could not 100% get into the book I think because of the age gap. It’s basically 20/40. Idk. Then I left the book and went back to it and even though the writing is still good I couldn’t get back the same flow as before.

Think I just wanted to continue to find out what happened after cliff hanger in book 1 even though I wasn’t invested in book 1. Now I know and don’t care to continue at all.

Idk I’m bored?

Can’t remember why I DNF (was on a plane and really wanted to get into a book) so read the last few pages again to try and jot my memory. All I got was the MC’s were making out and the h thought H was part of a mafia and that just made me roll my eyes. You’re an intelligent lawyer but honestly just stupid. I bet there was other stuff I hated too but just can’t remember - must’ve purged it from my memory.

Ch 10. Really cbf. Skimmed a lot and just can’t continue so over it. h is ‘not like other girls’, plays video games, skateboards, has guy friends, doesn’t dress up, punches people etc is one of the guys. Makes fun of her sister who is genuine and tries to help her (and let her hang out w her friends) but she thinks she’s beneath her. Over it and don’t really like the H. Wish he was the serial killer.

Ch17. I’m just so bored. No investment in any character. Don’t care about the plot. Just plain old bored out of my mind.
