Slowly getting through this read-aloud with my 11-year old.

This has been an excellent series for studying poetry in our homeschool. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow is our poet for the year.

Easy and emotional read about a young guy who lost his vision in a fireworks incident and how he is adjusting to life. We are halfway through and have yet to meet his guide dog, which my daughter is eagerly awaiting. Maybe this next chapter?

A wordy and much slower read for History Civil War era. We are enjoying it though not as much as some other books we’ve read surrounding this time.
