Our latest family read-aloud and every time we finish a chapter, there is a collective happy and audible sound that comes deep within our souls.

I am so glad we decided to read this book as part of our Modern American History studies. It’s hard to put down! One of the better books we’ve read this year.

11-year old listens to a lot of Boxcar. It’s a good series that doesn’t need much paying attention so she’ll listen while working on projects, etc.

Assigned this to my daughter for school reading. She is really enjoying it so far!

Why was this a recommended read for Modern History? This book is pointless, not well-written, does not have a great storyline and we could have definitely been fine without it. I don’t like wasting time on books like this, but now we’re too far in to just quit. Bummer. Hope to be done by next week so we can move on.
