Just finished Chapter 3 The Road about the beginnings of Christianity in England and I must say… I am impressed and also not very pleased with the method.

Pace is excruciatingly slow but “It’s a good book” they say.

Reading this as an audiobook. Probably doing this important piece of literature an injustice since I won’t be paying it 100% attention. So far I noticed K’s meekness, mockery of bureaucracy, pointlessness of many of the events. The latter reminds me of Murakami. Perhaps this is why Im not too taken aback by Kafka’s, because I’m desensitised? Lol.

Dropping this manhwa because it’s dragging too long and the characters have no personality.

57 chapters in and here are some thoughts:
1. funny 2. the characters are so beautiful esp Taemu omfg 3. Unrealistic & bland characters 4. Standard, unrealistic k-drama romance plot 5. 100 more chapters to go🤔 hopefully the rest of the story redeem itself, otherwise I’m just reading this to pass time.

Shiraha is annoying me to the bone omfg.

Longer book than I expected. So far so good - I love the weaving of the past and present, how both timelines present mysteries of their own for readers to connect them at the end of the book. I want and don’t want the book to end!

Fast paced story of a lawyer who managed to rise from the ashes, and her romance (so far only one, but based on spoilers there are two).

Farrell is so sweet ❤️ and there are still so many mysteries waiting to be unfolded! Never knew a mish mash of history + sci-fi + mystery + drama + a dash of romance can be so exciting!

39% in and i felt like the story is still slowly picking up. I may be wrong but I wonder if the background of protagonist (history major whose job has nothing to do with history) is really not that important. Just seems like she's just curious and nosy. She did not even remember her research methods!

Was this ghostwritten or did Nazir Razak actually write this? As a long time banker, such eloquence and clarity in his thoughts is expected, but the literary touch, especially when describing his upbringing & childhood, is beautiful.

I've never read a short book so slowly. I have trouble empathising with Bilodo :/
