I'm really enjoying this so far. Definite similarities with the real-life Nicola Bulley case, it seems.

Off to a good start. However, it has committed one of my cardinal sins. In the first chapter, the MC is on the bus going to Drop In, "the charity I work for" then in chapter 3 she arrived at Drop In "the charity I work for". Does the author think that I'd forgotten that , within the space of 11 pages, that Drop In was where she worked? I hate when simple facts are repeated over and over again in books

I don't want to read on if this is going where I think it's going. I can't remember the last time a book made me feel like this, my heart is breaking 💔

That was a stunning first chapter! Wow!

There is a LOT of backstory here! I didn't realise this was the fourth in a series when I requested it and I feel like I've come late to a party

Alice Feeney has always been very hit or miss for me, but I'm definitely enjoying the start of this book. Hopefully it keeps up

The first chapter of this book begins with "Sometimes I wonder whether I have it in me to kill someone". I'm hooked already!

This is going to be my 400th Netgalley review and I picked this one especially as I want my 400th review to be a good one.

A Lucy Barton/Olive Kitteridge cross-over, what's not to love?

This is my first Freida McFadden novel. I've generally stayed away as she seems to be an author who divides opinion quite significantly but I figured it's time I made my own mind up.

Am I going to enjoy?

I'm really enjoying this book so far but one thing I can't understand. Fredricks wasn't on campus on the night of the murder as he was supposed to be. When he is questioned by Jazz (the detective) about this, he says he can't tell her as it was 'private' and she just accepts this. What kind of police officer would just accept a potential suspect/witness/accomplice saying their alibi was 'private' and leave it at that
