I love so much about this book—the the science of marine life alternating with the author’s life and queer life, the juxtaposition, the reflection. The yeti crab, the whale, the hydrothermal vents. It’s what I’ve wanted to read— more about nature and our lives. What a fascinating thought of this life down below on the deep sea floor being compared to queer life and bringing in our need for chosen family.

Strange. This is true though “What is any group identity but a story a whole community has swallowed?”

Tomb of Sand by Geentajali Shree translated by Daisy Rockwell is an great read and an epic novel. At the border prison between Pakistan and India, 80 year old Ma gives a speech about borders, that hatred is manufactured.
I do love this book. So much is going on and it’s not linear nor stream of consciousness but something else
