James Baldwin may be my favourite style of prose. It’s SO sharp and so witty. So quick so effortlessly full of character and charm

What an interesting set up I'm liking this

I've read a surprising amount of this and it is intriguing and i do want to keep reading it but also I think it's tragic and I feel very disconnected from characters

This is really good so far. The magic system is SUPER interesting.

I think it’s fun but it’s not got much substance for me to get my interest really high

This series is too long to be physically reading so I’m getting the audiobooks through the library and I’m flying through this. Do not enjoy the male gaze perspective rn but it’s a known weakness of the series

Dayummmm. Chapter 3 from the Poet was REALLY good. This is so sci fi horror vibes I didn’t even know what I was getting myself into

Finished chapter 1! It is kinda each chapter is a different story told by the characters and I did enjoy the first chapter told by the Priest

I’ve tried to start this book probably 5 times since I got it many years ago and I finally got over that first bump because it’s quite hard sci-fi. Really loving this atm though
