Really enjoying this so far! It’s not at all what I was expecting- it’s like The Last of Us but with a vampire biker gang. Already something shocking has happened so I’m excited/nervous to see what happens next! 😅

THIS IS SO INTENSE AHHHHHH

This will probably be the first book I finish this year and it’s just what I’ve been wanting! It’s WEIRD, funny in an irreverant/ridiculous way, and I feel like it’s going to get insanely violent 😅

Still reading and loving! I’m finding I’m having to take my time with this one. There’s ALOT to digest, from the world building and all the different POV’s and flashbacks, from the *intense* fight scenes and shocking moments of violence + depravity. There’s a few heart warming and funny moments, but I just reached a part that ripped my heart from my chest 😅 so good, but yeah it’s a lot!!

First time I’ve ever been jump scared by an audiobook 😅

I forgot how bingeable Alex North’s books are!! LOVING this- it’s mysterious, a bit creepy, and the pacing is but steady.

Idk what’s scarier, the brutal child death at the beginning or the millennial cringe (says the millennial).

I will probably DNF this unfortunately (sorry Tor ily), the beginning was INSANE, but I’m not able to handle the internal monologue atm.

This is INSANE what a start!!! I also think this is my fav protagonist Nat’s written so far

Unless this has like the worst ending imaginable, I can’t see this being anything other than a 5 ⭐️ read!! I’m surprised at the low ratings but also not- literary horror novels don’t ever seem to land well with general audiences it seems.

So far so good!! Kind of giving Just Like Home by Sarah Gailey vibes in a weird way.

I went into this blind and was about to DNF even though I’m like 2/3 done with it, and decided to look at other reviews and I’m very ???????????????? So I read the synopsis and yeah this book, at 60% in, is not giving possession in anyway shape or form. I’ll continue, but I was expecting something like The Unprotected/The Push/Dearest but it’s nothing like those and so far also not giving horror at all

Finally prioritizing this after authorcon, and it made me realize how much I missed Laurel’s writing!!

I’m SHOCKED to see the lower rating!!!! This is SO CREEPY!!! Like genuinely, I’m creeped out like to the max 😂 I’ll follow up with my full review to see if the ending sticks the landing, but so far, genuinely, this might be the creepiest book I’ve read in a long time.

I just had to read another book by this author after reading Victorian Psycho, and I actually think I like this one more!! It’s DEFINITELY more restrained, but this author really has a knack for writing characters on the brink. I’m almost halfway through and not a whole lot has happened, but OMG I’m enthralled bc this MC is *so* unhinged 😅 like a mix between the book My Husband and the movie Black Swan.

I feel like this book just hasn’t found the right audience yet (most of the negative reviews are bc of the “political content”), because I was very surprised to see all the lower ratings!! This is incredibly hard to put down and has had some really creepy and intense moments so far.

THIS IS INSANE IM STRESSED WHAT

I went into this one completely blind after I saw Karen slaughter recommend it, and it took a second to get into, but I’m really liking it so far! It’s like equal parts brutal cop thriller and family drama with some pretty creepy dream sequences. It’s kind of giving like haunted house too, which I wasn’t expecting.

Im too early to really have much of an opinion one way or another, but this is SOOO bleak and eerie so far

This is probably my fav Hillier so far!! I LOVE the mc so much, and the writing in this is esp strong.

So far so good!!! Are you guys sick of me yet, Im probably gonna finish all of her books in the next few days at this rate 😂

Have I found a new favorite thriller writer??? I’m LOVING Hillier’s writing style. This has me hooked so far, I feel like her writing is straight to the point (almost blunt?) in a way that is soooo bingeable.

So far so good!!! So glad I gave hillier another shot, this is phenomenal!!!
