This whole book is just a bunch of buzzwords and one liners

I can’t stand cheesy one liners. “His future was a painting she didn’t belong in.” 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Why tf would she not pay the dollar now??

Why are we pretending Gregor is a good friend? He just told her to prioritize the worldkeepers over her sister? Something is rotten there. He’s desperate for belonging in a group that does not give af about Arina, is pissed she’s bringing in other friends to try to heal her- he’s a fake ass bitch

I need her to tell Jack about the damn brothel NOWWWWW. He would probably help out

The minutiae of running a brothel is a snoozefest. Feels like it’s been ages since we got an update on Frances or Meg

I suppose I wasn’t expecting us to take a turn into whoring so early into the book

This feels like a giant setup for Kaelis to be the Fool who has lived through the World multiple times and that Cara herself is the vessel.

How the hell is she going back to the academy? She’s been FOUND OUT. Her head of house just tried to kill her in the tunnels! The Prince of the damn realm chased her through town and carted her to prison !

The problem is I don’t care about these side characters. It’s not a found family dynamic because all of that happened before we entered the story. That’s why none of the deaths have mattered.

YES. Finally a book where we’re not wasting time imprisoned, separated, staging a drawn out rescue etc.

Struggling with the guilds, wish there was better name differentiation. Just now keeping the guilds/smiths straight almost halfway through

Rye?? More like RYAT BASTARD

Didn’t realize we got so much post-war perspective

Oh god. This is going to end badly. Surely he’s going to be blown up because he’s reupped to stay with her.

This is like Groundhog Day. The story is small and repetitive with very little development.

She’s been here over a month and we have 0 character development and know little to nothing about her or the prince. This book has a sheer veneer of plot with no concern to the characters. It’s moving so quickly and we get no detail.

How am I 6 pages in and we’ve already had a brother conscripted into the army and our FMC conscripted as a medic? I have 0 stake in them and this is reading as middle grade
