I am just not feeling the story and will set it aside. I am 2 hrs in. She started to give in to him, then backed off. He now has a grand seduction planned and is holding her home as a bargaining chip.

Tobias is going to be his lady's consort and give up being a doctor he's going with raven Anne, his brother to go find his sister. The senior vampires have been alerted that there are dragons around and they are rousing themselves and about to come after them.

Her brother sold the estate because he was bankrupt. He must have broken the entail which I have heard of other situations being done. The fact that he offered to sell his title is entirely unfactual and cast an ugly light on the brother, but also the story since it showed DS either didn't do her homework or just didn't care because her story would fall apart.

The assertion that she could inherit nothing was incorrect, but laid the groundwork for the entire story. After she married and had a son, she claimed he was the next heir since the younger brother had died and the elder brother only had daughters. This wouldn't have happened unless they got a dispensation from the king and there were no other direct male heirs.

Last part of story is just her in pain, married to him and loving him, but dying inside as he can not tell her he loves her. He does not know why he can't.

not my favorite. In the end he is sweet and gives her the proof about her family history and her being the baron.
