OFC Snow's jealous of Lucy Gray's success. Very in character for Snow not to be able to handle "his girl" or A WOMAN IN GENERAL, EVEN one he claims to care for, to be more successful than him. It's so heartbreaking to know just how common it is for people, especially women, to have eating disorders. it also shows too, probably the most outwardly out of most mental illnesses, how healing very much isn't linear. how one thing can truly change the way you perceive life forever even after you've been clean from it for a long period of time. bravo to anyone whose ever had to face something like that before.

her life really lives up to the phrase "last night was like a movie", like i have my own leamington spa moments, though i must admit... nothing that lives up to dolly's grandeur (and probably for the best for me, that would cause me such anxiety, but live your truth diva!) and the margaret atwood quote in the middle of the story ABOUT when something is considered a story just really resonated deeply with me.

it’s so crazy to be in snow’s head for a hunger games book. knowing what he becomes. it’s crazy bc suzanne is already sowing the seeds of snow’s mindset, we can see the string connecting the sorry excuse of a man we know. it’s difficult to sit with the slight moments of sympathy we feel for him & his classmates at times. but evil is not born, it’s made… i’m intrigued to see the rest of the creation.

i don't know what overcame me to start this book now, but cameron gave away some books and i had been meaning to pick this up eventually. having it in my possession now, i just had the urge to pick it up and start it !!!

as a women in my mid twenties, i've been rlly interested in reading memoirs, especially by women, for a new perspective and just to connect. so i am super excited to finally give this a read!

what a fun SHORT story to end our journey on. it was fascinating to connect the way a brain functions to the literal stars and galaxies up in the universe. it's insane how much more we know about the stars light years away in the sky then we do about the literal organ up in our head. the galaxy is finite but thought is infinite.

such a random collaboration of characters to have in a story about earth extinction, but it really does put into perspective the concept about how history definitely always repeats itself and every ending has a beginning. such a morbid thought to think of and while i hope it never happens, i wonder what kind of life is to be the predecessor of earth once human kind eventually brings about their own destruction.

after that last short story, this was a breathe of fresh air, which is also crazy to say considering the nature of the oceanless, dry, dust filled, dehydrated earth that i just spent 30 pages in. but it was captivating and interesting to read about !! i'm really finding that any of the climate stories are the ones for me in this collection.

finished most of the ending of this book on the train with my boyfriend coming back from our little valentines city getaway and every time colin bridgerton said something romantic, i would turn the book and just point and look at him like "are you taking notes?" as if he didn't fly in to see me for valentine's day.

i feel like i’m 13 again and i just picked out the #1 trending fic on wattpad to read and i don’t mean this in a complimentary way in this case

the last time i read this was august... bc this next short story was 60pgs and while the concept was interesting, i was just so... bored. when it comes to short stories, if i'm not locked into one central plot, 60 is a lot. this was just tough to get through, but i needed to power through so i wasn't stuck in perpetual mirror oblivion. anyways, i can't even fully comment on it, i'm just ready to move on.
