love that i'm starting to read the book club book for december 2025 in january 2026 and it's a christmas book... and you know what i'm keeping the holiday cheer going single handedly and i know maggie needs it too this girl has been THROUGH IT already

y'all non fiction is so difficult for me to get through and this might be the quickest i read a non fiction book because of my job and yet i was really struggling in the end there. we did it folks.

i think this book is making me realize i don't like marketing and i really respect people who have gone into marketing and advertising especially in the constantly shifting environment of companies and the internet and ai, like yall make it look so easy but that stresses me out

y'all i fear as a girlie pop with a BFA, i lowkey have no business reading a book giving me marketing advice that's literally saying not to do the advertising yourself and hire someone with an advertising and marketing degree instead. but hey! i'm being paid to gather intel so continuing to gather it i shall!

two idiots who are being told by multiple sources they’re literally the exact same person and then pointing at each other to say “what? this mf SUCKS” is peak romance

i was ready for the anthony redemption arc but then this man just asked his boys for someone’s sparks notes summary as the foundation of marriage. he’s almost 30. he’d LOVE dating apps.

the way daphne clocked simon’s daddy issues… probably the hardest read of 1813. whistledown wishes she was able to dish that one out herself!

only one week enclosed in a room for your honeymoon? yeah that’s rookie numbers, just ask feysand

damn at least violet TRIED to have the talk with daphne, she got further than my mom (she never gave me the talk), and this is the damn 1800's! i just read copious amounts of fanfiction, so thank god for wattpad i guess!

did anthony bridgerton not pay attention in class when they were teaching him the FINE ART OF NOT BEING A COCK BLOCK ?? VIOLET COME GET YOUR SON.

and when he said there's certain phrases he recommends using to succeed on phone calls with patients like an actor who recites their script just right to have the audience believe them i really felt that. i truly connected with that phrase. finally felt seen by the dental book.

i can already feel myself getting irrationally attached to these characters. i have fear. i love daphne bad, the societal pressures of being the eldest daughter who must marry asap and this diva goes "not unless they love me, i'm not settling" WORK.

also me subconsciously imagining all 3 of the hottest British men i've ever had a crush on as the 3 older brothers has me in DANGER. i'm ALREADY falling guys send help.

so. before I started this book a friend told me to "get ready to read mockingjay&not smile once". I wish she had just told me to burn the book&save myself from the TORMENT this would cause me. I was better off living in ignorance. Remember how I said this series in Katniss's head hit's a different angle? WELL EMOTIONALLY. I WAS BEAT THE FUCK UP. WHY WAS I SOBBING AT THE END I KNEW WHAT HAPPENED? CURSE YOU SUZANNE.

there is literally a section in the chapter i just read that was like "technology doesn't work as a marketing tool if the patient doesn't know you have it", and then a week later one of our patients literally didn't know we had this technology in the office and that is what was hindering him from keeping his crown appointments and i thought huh. maybe this book is onto something...

you know what i CAN get behind? the book pushing for loyalty! i too believe that's a core value! taylor swift did once say "they don't make loyalty like they used to" and she's absolutely right! be loyal! tell em fred!

i'm really going to need my parents to stop fighting QUICKLY. feeling like a child of DIVORCE RIGHT NOW. i just need SOMETHING TO BE HAPPY ABOUT BECAUSE THIS NEXT PART IS NOT GOING TO BE PRETTY. I NEED TO FEEL SOMETHING !! AND MY PARENTS BEEFING IS NOT HELPING !!!

I genuinely don't know how to read non fiction. Like I truly just don't think I engage with it in the way that I should and it's truly frustrating. Like so many people get these plans of actions like guys I'm not a visionary I'm a story teller help.

I'm reading this for work so don't mind me, you can carry on

i've watched the movie counterpart at least five times and yet nothing could prepare me for actively reading the most devastatingly, debilitating, emotional despairing final ending line of all time. i'm a victim.

this entire quell section made me feel like i was personally prosecuted on the whipping post and got beat up with metal gloves the way my emotions were manhandled by suzanne. and i watched the movie and that was emotionally damaging and somehow THIS WAS WORSE???

yo imma need suzanne to lay off of the third point in the damn love triangle because i did NOT need what felt like a gale centric part one of catching fire NOR did i need the lack of peeta we were given bc gale was being an attention seeking whore.

also snow so scared of katniss, she literally BREATHES and he send 100 more peacekeepers to district 12... count your fucking days bro...

the way this is the first time in basically 2 years i genuinely sat down & could not stop reading a book... i guess part 3 of THG will do that to u. if this is the energy book katniss&peeta r bringing to the table, wtf is in the next 2 books! &finally... i have finished my 1st book of the yr! let's just pretend it's not a reread from last yr! i'm just so happy i feel myself crawling out of my 2 yr long reading slump!

It's so crazy to see myself get this far in a book again after 2 and a half years of a book slump.... We are also going to pretend that it didn't take me till August and a threat to pick this book back up to get to this point...we are simply going to celebrate our wins...

JUST LIKE HOW KATNISS IS CELEBRATING THE RULE CHANGE !!! WE ARE IN THE HOME STRETCH BABY !!!! VICTORY(at what cost...) HERE WE COME !!!

finished part one! actually crazy how part one is called "the tributes", it sets everything up... and then part two is called "the games"... so you'd think "oh okay so we are gonna start with them being sent up to the arena right?" WRONG. part one ends and part two begins with Peeta dropping one of his many bombshells... AND THAT IMPLYING THE GAMES REAL BEGINNING GOES SO HARD !! BABY LET THE GAMES BEGIN FR

i feel like for most of these short stories, the length of it doesn't really attribute to much, it's simply the length of the story. with this one, the way it was only 11 pages, and then the way the text flips to backwards at the end to signal the contraction of time was chilling. the fact that something so drastic in our universe can happen so fast and we are incapable of stopping it is chilling.
