Already having deja vu, because the start to this is painfully similar to “Broke Down” by Sharan Daire 🤦🏽‍♀️😂 single, destitute mom driving along the middle of nowhere when her car breaks down? Not finished yet but so far getting very Harry Potter vibes. This girl doesn’t know she has magic until she gets a letter from a school of magic inviting her to come (and the uniform includes a cloak!) and while there we learn that an evil mage may have escaped prison (prisoner of Azkaban, anyone?). 😂

Honestly these are just getting worse and worse in terms of the writing. I’m really disappointed as I loved the YA Crave series (same author, different pen name). I think it comes down to poor/lazy editing tbh. If readers are noticing inconsistencies that don’t make sense, they should have been caught by the editor. Stg I just read the line “hurt or injured” ... that’s .... the same thing?
