Bro, June. You bitch. If I was Kidan I would have smacked my sister silly. I’m so mad for Kidan, but I also need answers. And I need revenge. Which I’m sure will be provided.

Yos… who is this Lusidio? Will they be the person you overcome something with? Will there be a big moment for you to prove you’ve changed? Just a theory. A book theory.

We’re in for a ride. I need moments with June, I need Samson gone, I need GK back home, I need Yos and Kidan together.

What the fuck is going on?
Finally we got a character who knows where June is. Only took 400 pages but we got there.

GK is a vampire.
Yos left Kidan to be eaten pretty much.
Slen and Yusef kinda got the torture they deserve.
Kidan had a moment to finally realise her bias to humans and their forgiveness.
Samson might be joining Uxlay soon… bad news.

My jaw was on the floor while I read through these chapters. My favourite scene was Susenyos yelling at Kidan for so easily forgiving her friends of sins but when it comes to him, she can’t. Oh the fire burning, the anger, the harsh words really got me emotional and angry.

Slen… did you really just kill GK? Everything is just death right now. Poor GK, didn’t deserve all he went through.

The one comfort of listening to June’s videos being ruined by the evil voices is a nice little jump scare.

This short little arc with Slen and Yusef was cute and also tragic. Yos has a point in saying Kidan kind of tries to do good through her friends to absolve her sins… kinda rude Yos, having valid points and all.

This book leaves me begging for more.

Yos and Kidan just give me the dopamine I need to keep living. I’m heavily invested in them two. Do I trust either of them? Of course not. But that’s what makes it exciting.

June. If you’re just hiding, I will kill you myself. June better have a good explanation if she’s just hiding. Maybe she’s a half house blooded one…?

We know who killed Ramyn. Susenyos and Kidan are learning the worst about eachother but still stay. Slen is a complex character. Poor Yusef is going through it. GK dropped out.

I theorise that Susenyos will want his immortality back permanently SO BAD that he will hurt Kidan in the process. Also, Slen will doubt Kidan and maybe ruin her chances at getting June back.

Kidan and Susenyos are really developing right now. A little over halfway and finally they got some nice moments together. I’m sensing some bigger moments soon, cause they’re getting real close!

Slen, help Kidan out and just tell her who killed Ramyn.

Finally! Susenyos and Kidan are working together. One heck of a rollercoaster with these two but something definitely will happen later.

Objective is: the 13th. Whatever they’re hiding, where they’re hiding and planing.

Yos and Kidan are so evil, dark and a little hot. Damn, sometimes I don’t understand how they think of eachother but remember they’re both gorgeous so…

So much happens in one chapter. They aren’t even long chapters.

Susenyos knows Kidan lied.
Susenyos doesn’t want to kill Kidan but knows he has to. His immortality is also being taken away from him.
Slen is exactly like Kidan.
Maybe the 13th took June?
Everything goes back to Susenyos. He’s the sacrifice Kidan needs to make…

Susenyos was an Emperor. Kinda swag. Kidan destroyed his coronation crown. Not cool bro.

I’m kind of bored… we’re creating the set up for some stuff. The plot has switched up, we have new things going on.

They’re bonding… oh gosh. Yos enjoying the little history moment he had with Kidan was cute.

I do not like Koril Qaros. For obvious reasons. I also don’t think he will be redeemed… so I will be hating for the rest of the book.

Kidan is looking for a life exchange. She knows about the 13th and the people. Now she’s a spy to get information about Susenyos.

Kidan took the fake poison, now Susenyos has to help her. Because of this, he “confessed” to not hurting or killing Jane… seems to add up. I think he just acted crazy to get her kicked out.

Got some cute moments with GK (so he’s for sure gonna fuck something up) Slen is an ally and a tragically abused one. So she’s one situation away from murder…

Kidan having Susenyos’ fangs is really a big deal. She also just displayed it for everyone to see…? Karma though, for what Susenyos did.

However, I find it funny how he literally says “I’ll never forgive you for this” and the fanart at the end of the book suggests otherwise…

That dance was intense. I love GK and Taj. Also Kidan, for spilling her drink on that shitty dad.

Taj is an important guy I fear. He’s kind, in vampire ways, he’s charming and unfortunately he’s hot. So he’s either a bad, good or goofy guy… but he knows something we don’t…

Kidan… come on. “Enter at your own risk” and you did. At what cost? Anyways!

“He had to be lying, because what the fuck?” That line made me laugh. I like when things aren’t so formal.

AHHHH SHE PULLED HIS FANGS OUT! I was cringing but couldn’t stop reading. If that doesn’t confirm how meant for each other they are, I don’t know what will.

I’m believing, the Dean is not good. Her Aunt Silia is also unreliable, and there are larger forces at play here.

Maybe Jude is PART of something bigger… we shall see!

Kidan… you’re crazy. Fully dropping a dresser/vanity on yourself because you’re so mad is scary. Killing someone, yeah I understand. A prank gone too far and you make it worse was new.

I’m nervous what else you’ll do… excited, but nervous.

Nothing new to say.

Days are going quick.

Plot is developing.

Characters are coming in.

I don’t think there’s any house we can trust.
I don’t think there’s any one we can trust.
Frankly, I’m not even sure I trust the main character.

Still early, no new thoughts. I enjoy being in these lessons though, I like fun teachers.

This is getting goooood… Susenyos and Kidan are hot. They already have this banter and attitude together that promises a good time.

I’m enjoying the world we’re in so far, there’s a set objective, conflict and challenges in ready to see Kidan face. Also learning about this world, what’s normal and what’s weird etc.

Great writing.

Kidan Adane is one interesting character. 5 chapters in and I feel like I know her so well. She’s stubborn, strong, motivated and a little bad but in the best way.

I’m intrigued by what Aunt Silia has in store for us with this book.

I was really like how there’s video recordings and letters that break up the basic paragraph after paragraph stuff.

So, the men ruined the world and forced women to follow the bible. Yet, as the commander says, its nature to want variety and different women…. Saying women bought clothes to be different everyday.

Shoot me. It’s very funny how she said “I’m getting fed up with him” not long after he went on taking about this none sense.

Even in a world where women essentially have no rights, it’s still set in a perspective where women fight against one another. Oh she got pregnant, lucky her. Oh she had a miscarriage, probably from being a whore. It’s subtle but there.

I’m terrified this novel will have a shitty ending. By that I mean it will make me devastated and depressed in a good way…

Hearing how the world got this way is so freaky. It’s not completely far fetched and slowly I think our world is reaching this.

I will find the nearest light fixture before I let this life become mine.

Offred called herself “Ovaries” sometimes I do the same but it’s just not the same.

Hiding away to play a game of scrabble is pathetic and poetic. Offred had some good words as well, which is frustrating. She let him win the second round as well.

If this plot ever happens in my lifetime, I’ll check myself out.

“-your feet and your hands are not essential.” Describing being a handmaid.

The way the man, wife and maid get it on was so uncomfortable yet normal. Even Offred wanted to laugh.

This book is taking a toll on me.

It has me thinking, I would hate to be assigned this book if I was a teenage boy, because I cannot see them relating or understanding even the basic words. This thought has broken me and further aches my heart as I read, also the scary future of this world right now.

God help us- actually no stay away!

This truely shows how much women think. Just in general, I understand the world Offred is in and how she should be a certain way but it still doesn’t change her head.

Speaking with friends sounds like a luxury so of course everything is in her mind.

Thrown into this world wasn’t as jarring as I expected. I’m getting a sense of what’s in store for me while I read and it isn’t looking good.

Whatever this story holds, I’m afraid it will ruin me or set me up for disaster. Regardless, I’m eager to see what is in store.
