Cool story. I really like the use of the Acadian expulsion being that I have a little Cajun in my background.

Wow. Finished with a major book hangover. This one had me looking everywhere for who was behind the drama this time. It could have been almost anyone.

Over a third through the book and I have no clue where this runaway rollercoaster is going! I love being swept away like this. The suspense leaves me breathless as I am fully enveloped by Merit's world. I can almost smell the smoke and hear the shouting.

I loved it! this book keeps you guessing until the end. She really shows the struggles Alrik must face to prove to himself that he can be good again and be the person he wants to be.

I loved it right up until near the end.
